school - general information

Location: Faith Christian School is located in central North Carolina. Geographically, we have the best of two worlds here at FCS. The school is located in rural Piedmont, North Carolina; however, since we are between the large cities of Charlotte, Greensboro, Winston-Salem and Raleigh, the advantages of a city are easily accessible.

Faculty and Associations: Faith Christian School has finished over 50 years of operation and has over 320 students in Grades 3K-12. The faculty/staff includes over 45 men and women with an average tenure of 20 years. With our goal to provide superior academic and spiritual training for Christian young people, our teachers are involved with teacher certification and continuing education through the NCCSA. FCS is also in compliance with the NC Division of Non-Public Education of which it is proud of its superior compliance with the requirements of the state and for being one of the founding members of the NCCSA.

Academics: In the high school, FCS offers a variety of elective classes in addition to the basic courses. These classes include in addition to the basics: Keyboarding, Computer Applications using Microsoft Office, Computer Science, Chemistry, Physics, Calculus,  Agricultural Science, Speech, Journalism, Spanish, Orchestra, Handbell Choir, Chorus and Ensemble. Speech students perform at least one stage production yearly, and Advanced Speech students participate in bi-annual programs. Agricultural Science students compete on the state and National levels, and have achieved noteworthy awards, including First Place over their 15 years of achievements. To provide remedial help, we have an active Talent Development Center whose staff works with the faculty to best educate students.

In addition to college prep classes, FCS has partnered with Randolph Community College in providing dual enrollment courses as well as offer students college courses not available on the FCS campus. Some students enter college as a first or second semester sophomore.

Fundraising: Most schools have to do their share of fundraising. We have chosen to keep our fundraising to a minimum with an annual Fall Festival/Pig Pickin’ and a Community Service Project (CSP). This CSP program allows students to recruit sponsors for five hours of community service.  A portion of the sponsor money is sent to graduates from FCS who are serving the Lord on the mission field.

Academic and Athletic Competition: As a charter member of the North Carolina Christian School Association (NCCSA), formed 30 years ago, FCS currently holds membership with them and the American Association of Christian Schools (AACS). This enables our students to compete with other schools in athletics and fine arts. Our athletes participate in soccer, volleyball, basketball, baseball, softball, golf and cross country. FCS also sponsors an intra-mural spring soccer program for our elementary students.

Supporting Pillars: Faith Baptist Church is the supporting church of the school and has about 100 active members. The church supports the school financially as well as with voluntary service. Faith Christian School is God’s school, and He continues to meet the needs of this ministry so that the young people of Randolph County and surrounding counties can have a place to receive a quality Christian education.

In 2019 Beulah Baptist Church of Bennett, North Carolina partnered with FCS to expand the ministry through a preschool and kindergarten in the Beulah facility. As the Lord leads and provides, other grades hope to be added to form an elementary school in addition to the Ramseur campus. FCS praises the Lord for the vision and partnership of Beulah Baptist. What an amazing opportunity to further the Kingdom of God!
