c-history of the church

In January of 1965, a small group of 27 people met to discuss the prospects of organizing an Independent Baptist Church in Ramseur.  After a week of prayer, the group settled on the name Faith Baptist Church and called its first pastor, Rev. Richard Gray.  The church rented the Brown's Cross Roads Grange Hall until a building could be built at its current location off Highway 22 between Ramseur and Coleridge.

The first church budget of $169 per month was approved on July 14, 1965.  In September 1968, the church opened the doors to Faith Christian School.  Over the years the church has built, paid for and maintained the buildings and grounds of our 13-acre campus. The church currently sponsors the school along with 10 other missionaries and mission organizations.

Gary Moger came to Ramseur in 1979 to teach Bible and History.  He has served at the pastor at Faith since 1984.
